Photography
Photography came in to play around the 6th grade. I don't remember who's idea it was to put a camera into my hands but as brilliant as that was I'm sure they were very sorry for it once they did - I was (and still am) very annoying.
I remember getting a new camera for Christmas one year and I ran around the house and snapped a few photos although I did not have film yet, but I was so thrilled I just wanted to use it. My sisters were my targets, of course. Poor things. This was during those years of our lives they obviously did not want their pictures taken. They wined at my for taking their photos and I showed them that there was no film in the camera (back in the days when cameras needed film). My plan was working, I gained their trust. As soon as they were making all kinds of crazy poses for my new toy I ran upstairs and put film in the camera. Hehehe. I still have the blackmail. And they still love me. I think....?
By high school I became nick named "The Tourist", "Paparazzi", in addition to "Mute" - all for the obvious reasons. I annoyed everyone so bad I felt like I had to stop taking photos. But I loved it so much I had to continue, so I switched subject matter - over to anything that did not get annoyed by the camera. Still life doesn't whine.
Now I Am ten years out of college and am still 100% hooked on photography.
